Pittsburgh is Calling: Experience the ANA's Largest Coin Show, August 25-29 Discover dazzling rarities, engaging educational experiences, family-friendly fun, and much more at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center
The American Numismatic Association (ANA) will host their largest coin show of the year, August 25-29. Taking place at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the World's Fair of Money® will feature incredible exhibits of rarities, many on display for the first time.
The convention attracts collectors from all over the globe and features more than 500 dealers on a sold-out bourse floor buying and selling rare coins, paper money, gold and silver, and more. Experts will provide free, informal evaluation of the public's collectibles, and all attendees have access to multiple free educational presentations throughout the week. Families will enjoy Ernie's Treasure Treehouse, which provides kids 18 and under the opportunity to win prizes by playing numismatic-themed games.
Convention Hours
The convention, located in Hall B of the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, is open 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday; 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday; and 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is $10 per person for a day pass, or $25 for a full-week pass. Admission is free for everyone on Saturday. ANA members and kids under 12 get free entry all week long.
Coin Giveaway
Celebrate the convention with a free, special-edition legal tender coin from the ANA and Minted Assets. Approximately 250 1-ounce copper commemoratives will be available daily a
at tables 1230, 1232, and 1234, starting at noon Tuesday, and 11 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Limit one per person; first come, first served, while supplies last.
Minted Assets is also encouraging show attendees to meet various medallic and coin artists during the show and collect their signatures using a two-page spread in the World's Fair of Money Show Guide. Artists will be available to provide signatures at the Minted Assets tables at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 28.
ANA Donations for an Exclusive Strike
To celebrate 250 years of American independence, the ANA is launching a fundraising initiative during the convention. This campaign encourages donations to support the ANA's mission as a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to the study and collection of coins and related items. In recognition of their support, donors contributing at specific tiers will receive an exclusive, limited-edition America 250 "Flame of Freedom" commemorative silver medal.
Designed by acclaimed artist Heidi Wastweet, the medal serves as a tribute to the enduring ideals of freedom and resilience found in the Declaration of Independence.
Supporters can participate in the fundraiser at table 97.The ANA is offering the following medal varieties in appreciation for qualifying donations:
• $250 donation: Supporters receive the official ANA "Flame of Freedom" silver medal. This strike is limited to a mintage of 400 pieces.
• $500 donation: Supporters receive the official ANA "Flame of Freedom" silver medal professionally encapsulated with a special America 250 label, generously provided by Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC),the Official Grading Company of the ANA. The slabbed medal is limited to 100 pieces.
Donations are limited to one standard medal and one special-label encapsulated medal per household. All donations to the ANA are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law; the deductible portion is the amount contributed above the fair market value of the medal.
Exhibits of Exceptional Rarities
An extraordinary array of numismatic treasures will be on display during this year's show, from iconic favorites—such as the ANA Money Museum's legendary 1913 Liberty Head Nickel—to specially curated displays celebrating 250 years of American independence.
Included in these displays is what promises to be one of the most significant exhibition milestones in modern numismatic history. The U.S. Mint and the ANA are proud to announce all 11 government-owned 1933 $20 Saint-Gaudens double eagles will be displayed together for the first time ever on Friday, August 28. Attendees can see these legendary specimens at U.S. Mint table 830.

GreatCollections (GreatCollections.com), the ANA Official Auctioneer, will showcase standout U.S. coinage—from registry-level silver commemoratives to dramatic modern errors. Visit table 1100 to explore the artistry and diversity of the hobby.
The Money Museum Showcase, table 1430, will display some of the world's most beautiful and significant coins, paper money, and related numismatic treasures—featuring rare and historic pieces from the ANA Money Museum, alongside exceptional items generously lent from distinguished private collections (sponsored by the Pennsylvania Association of Numismatists and Thomas Uram). Here's what to expect this year:
• Washington: Military Hero
Medals honoring George Washington reflect his enduring reputation as a military leader.
•Satrapal Coinage of the Achaemenid Persian Empire
Rare Greek-inspired coins, including some of the earliest portraits of historical figures, generously loaned by John Nebel.
•The Forgotten Emergency Money of WWII Emergency notes issued to protect U.S. currency during a potential invasion of the Hawaiian Islands.

• The Colonial Coin Collectors Club (C4) Presents: The America 250 Display Trace the nation's path from colonial rule to a constitutional republic through four showcases: Prelude to Revolution, Declaring Our Independence, The New Confederation, and The Constitution and the New Federal Government.
Tyrants of the Golden Horn willpresent 224 rarities from the world-renowned Tyrant Collection, representing nearly every Byzantine emperor and later Ottoman rulers across 1,700 years of numismatic history. Highlights range from a gold aureus of Diocletian, struck in 290 A.D., to a 1943 Turkish 500 kurush.
Explore remarkable treasures recovered from the SS Central America (aka the "Ship of Gold"), which sank in a hurricane in 1857 while carrying California Gold Rush gold. This member exhibit features artifacts and scientific discoveries from expeditions to the wreck. Visit table 600 to discover these treasures.

At table 96, view more than 1,300 signatures from World War II (WWII) dignitaries, generals, and presidents on "short snorter" bank notes, courtesy of the nonprofit Short Snorter Project (ShortSnorter.org). Highlights include a rare note signed by Hollywood icon and WWII combat pilot James "Jimmy" Stewart.
ANA members also will showcase their unique collections, share research, and exchange knowledge with fellow hobbyists from around the nation. This year's show features over 65 collector exhibits(sponsored by Diamond Strategic Metals and Collectibles). Attendees have the opportunity to vote for their favorite ones.
ANA Featured Live Auction Sponsor Early Cents Auctions (earlycentsauctions.com) is hosting an online and live auction for the show. Bids are currently being accepted online. The in-person auction will take place Thursday, August 27 at 5 p.m. in room 411/412. View lots during show hours or by appointment at Early Cents Auctions table 1022. The auction features items from Fred H. Borcherdt's Hall of Fame Collection of 1794-1814 cents.
The Coin of the Year (COTY) awards, hosted by World Coin News, will be held Thursday, August 27 at 11 a.m. in room 413. This competition recognizes and encourages outstanding coin design and innovation worldwide. The COTY Nominating Committee selected 100 finalists (10 coins in 10 categories) from a pool of coins. An international panel of judges then select the top coin in each category. Of these finalists, one is named Coin of the Year. The ceremony is free and open to the public.
Money Talks lectures will be presented throughout the week by well-known professionals in the field of coin collecting. These lectures provide collectors a forum in which to share their views and research with the public and are free to attend. The 30- to 45-minute programs accommodate questions from the audience (sponsored by Angel Dee's Coins and Collectibles).
The Maynard Sundman/Littleton Coin Company Lecture Series, also free and open to the public, will focus on the theme "Striking Independence: 250 Years of American Numismatics." Presenters will discuss how coins, medals, and tokens tell the story of the United States from 1776 to today. The symposium will be held in room 327 on Wednesday, August 26, 10 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. The lecture series is underwritten by Maynard Sundman/Littleton Coin Co. Lecture Series Endowment and David Sundman.
Family Experiences
Children attending the show can visit Ernie's Treasure Treehouse (sponsored by Kevin Lipton Rare Coins), an educational area to play games and earn "Hoot Loot" (similar to tokens at an arcade) to spend on coin prizes of their choice. Games include Treasure Trivia, the cash cube, numismatic plinko, cornhole, coin toss, design-a-coin, and more.

Worth Its Weight Podcast Launch
During the show, the ANA Money Museum will launch a new podcast, Worth Its Weight, on August 27 at 10 a.m. Taking place in the Museum Showcase area, the debut episode, to be recorded live on the bourse floor, will feature a panelist of some of the hobby's leading voices: Jeff Garrett, Dennis Tucker, Shanna Schmidt, John Kraljevich, and Douglas Mudd. Hosted by Money Museum Curator Caroline Turco, podcast episodes will release twice weekly with a focus on historical stories, scholarship, and current events in numismatics.
