American Numismatic Association's Largest Coin Show, August 19-23 in Oklahoma City
Dazzling rarities, free educational opportunities, family fun and more await at the Oklahoma City Convention Center

WFM-2025-web-04

The American Numismatic Association (ANA) will host their largest coin show of the year, August 19-23. Taking place at the Oklahoma City Convention Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the World's Fair of Money® will feature incredible exhibits of rarities, some on display for the first time.

The convention attracts collectors from all over the United States and features more than 500 dealers on-site to buy and sell rare coins, paper money, gold and silver, and more. Experts will provide free, informal evaluation of the public's old money, and free educational seminars and lectures are open to all. Families will also have access to Ernie's Treasure Treehouse, a section of the show dedicated to games and providing opportunities for kids to win prizes.

Convention Hours

The convention, located in Hall B of the Oklahoma City Convention Center, is open 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is $10 per person, or $25 for a week pass. On Saturday, admission is free for everyone. ANA members can enter free all week. A valid photo ID is required for entry.

Coin Giveaway

To celebrate the Oklahoma City World's Fair of Money, the ANA and Minted Assets are partnering to give away a free, special-edition legal tender coin during the show. Approximately 250 base metal commemorative coins will be distributed  daily at the Minted Assets tables (1132 and 1134)—beginning at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, and at 12 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Coins will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

As an added bonus, renowned coin designer Joel Iskowitz, the mastermind behind this year's coin design, will be at the Minted Assets table on Thursday, August 21, to meet with visitors.

Exhibits of Exceptional Rarities

Coins valued in the millions – such as a $3 million nickel – and seldom-seen historical exhibits from the ANA's Money Museum and treasures from private collections are a huge draw for everyone. Rarities on display include:

Museum Showcase2
  • The 1804 silver dollar, one of the most coveted of all U.S. rare coins, with only 15 known examples.
  • A 1907 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle from the famous Tyrant Collection. This $20 denomination gold piece was in the estate of the famous coin's designer, acclaimed sculptor August
  • Electrum coins of Asia Minor
  • 1792 Engraved Washington Indian Peace Medal, the smallest of the three Washington medal sizes. Around twenty small-size 1792 medals remain, with only about seven recorded.
  • First coins of Mexico

For the first time in a century, the unique pair of 1844 $5 and $10 Proof Gold coins minted in New Orleans have been reunited. The ANA Official Auctioneer GreatCollections will display the pair at World's Fair of Money at tables 901/1000.

ANA members are also invited to showcase their unique collections, share research, and exchange knowledge with fellow hobbyists from around the nation. This year's show features over 50 collector exhibits (sponsored by West Coast Coins).

Learning Opportunities

Money Talks lectures will be presented throughout the week by well-known professionals in the field of coin collecting. These lectures provide collectors a forum in which to share their views and research with the public and are free to attend. The 30- to 45-minute programs accommodate questions from the audience.

The Sundman Lecture Series, also free and open to the public, will focus on the theme "Culture's Mirror: How Coins Reflect Popular Culture." Presenters will discuss how coins, medals, and tokens reflect the culture of the times. The symposium will be held in room 201 on Wednesday, August 20, 10 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. The lecture series is underwritten by Maynard Sundman/Littleton Coin Co. Lecture Series Endowment and David Sundman.

Family Experiences

Children attending the show can visit Ernie's Treasure Treehouse (sponsored by Kevin Lipton Rare Coins), an educational area to play games and earn Hoot Loot to spend on numismatic items of their choice. Games include Treasure Trivia, the cash cube, plinko, cornhole, coin toss, designing coins and more.

On Saturday, August 23 from 9 a.m. to noon, a free workshop for children called The Young Collectors Corner will teach the basics of the hobby of coin collecting. For more information, visit info.money.org/ycc-wfm-2025. To attend this workshop, pre-registration is strongly encouraged to attend.
